And last but certainly not least, there’s the dress code. So, if you plan to visit during the day, you can get away with more casual clothing.

11. SERRA by Birerria

It sits fifteen floors above Eataly (in the Flatiron District) and has a menu filled with a wide variety of Italian inspired drinks and foods that are brought you by none other than Mario Batali himself.
Yup, this critically acclaimed Iron Chef started this restaurant and you can access it by venturing inside Eataly (get the burrata while you’re here) and then taking the elevator to the roof.
Once inside, enjoy over-the-top, super Insta-worthy decor that actually changes with the seasons. So, expect Alpine-inspired decor in the winter, a “flowering greenhouse” filled with vibrant blooms in the spring and summer, and autumn foliage aplenty in the fall.
And while they do have a large food menu, I’d stick with a small appetizer since the food was just OKAY when I visited.
Next, pair it with a divine, Aperol Spritz and savor the enchanting ambiance around you.
Pro Tip: This place is popular so make an early reservation, like right when they open at 11:30 am. This way, you can take pictures without tons of people all around you.

Other than that, one of the main components of the Sandbar Rooftop’s theme is its cocktail menu. If you can, try the breakwater, the sunset, or the Atlantic Beach since they are all awesome.

So, if you’re looking for a much needed dose of tranquility in the city that never sleeps, then this is 110% the place for you.
I mean, not only does the well-decorated elevator totally set the mood, but there’s even a super chic, old-world train inspired dining room that takes you back to yesteryear while you sip on their delicious Sleep No More Cocktail, order a fantastic burger, and devour sticky toffee pudding for dessert.
So, while things here may be a bit pricey and while the menu may be a bit limiting, the service is exceptional, everything is well-prepared, and the ambiance is second to none (even if the views aren’t the best on this list).
Yup, just an all around fun, super chill place that you and your fave gal pals can enjoy while experiencing some of the best rooftop restaurants NYC has to offer.

And as with many social media famous rooftop bars in NYC, there’s a bouncer at the door who decides who gets in and who gets the boot.
For this reason, you’ll want to get dressed up in your finest attire. Because if you’re lucky enough to get in, you’ll be in awe of the views and the drinks (and the high price tags).
So as you’re dancing the night away, you can sip on the sunset spritz, one too many, or pineapple trainwreck since all of these cocktails are pure perfection.

The Crown is a rooftop bar located at the top of Hotel 50 Bowery, a chic, 4.5-star boutique hotel in the East Village where rooms start at just $150.00 per night.
And since this wonderful hotel is nestled in the heart of Manhattan, you can admire jaw-dropping views of the city from The Crown.
As for the food, the menu is a little limited. But, that just means that the chefs here have taken time to master a few select items. So, try decadent delights like the shishito peppers, the chicken dumplings, and the pork bao.
Then, chase your food down with delicious drinks like the Chinatown spritz, the hibiscus gin mule, or the Crown’s Cider.
Now, i’ll be the first one to admit that the dress code here is a little unclear. As a result, you’ll see people here in everything from casual clothes to extremely fancy outfits.
There’s also no mention of a dress code on their website or social media accounts, But, people have been turned away at the door for not following the dress code.
So, moral of the story? Dress up a bit before heading out to one of the best rooftop restaurants NYC has to offer.

Yes, Catch Roof and Catch NYC are owned by the same company. More than that though, they are in the same location.
And that’s where things can get a little confusing. Catch Roof lays claim to the rooftop after 10:00 pm, but Catch NYC combines the rooftop with its other floors during the day.
Therefore, Catch NYC is open for brunch and dinner, and as long as you visit before 10:00 pm, there’s a chance you’ll get seated on the roof.
That’s right, a chance. Because even if you make a reservation in advance and request rooftop seating, it’s not guaranteed.
That said, if you want to roll the dice and see what happens, Catch NYC is a great place to visit. For brunch, you can enjoy the cinnamon roll pancakes, waffle tower, shakshuka, or croque madame.
And for dinner, you won’t want to miss out on the catch roll, lobster mac & cheese, and herb roasted branzino.
One final note: Be prepared to spend a pretty penny while at this classy NYC rooftop restaurant since, well, it’s anything but cheap.

And Electric Lemon is one of those super-chic eateries. After all, this sleek, high-end restaurant sits on the 24th floor of the suave Equinox Hotel and offers visitors truly awe-inspiring views of the Hudson River and the surrounding area.
