Best Souvenirs from NYC

1. “I love NY” T-shirt

⭐️ Rating: 4.4/5 (288 Reviews) Price: $14.99 Details: Read more on Amazon!

Talk about a quintessential NYC souvenir that is absolutely perfect for anyone who lives outside of New York City but who still wants to profess their eternal devotion to this magical place.

Because real talk? No respectable New Yorker would ever be seen wearing an “I love NY” shirt while walking down the not-so-mean streets of NYC.

Sorry, but we’re (supposedly) way cooler than that. So save all the t-shirt wearing for when you get some of the best souvenirs in NYC home with you.

You know, that magical place where no one will see your shirt and immediately think, “Excellent, total tourist. Let’s pillage them now.”

“Great shirt, fabric has a nice feel and is good quality. I ordered a medium and it fits fine but is on the snug side. I might order a large next time.”

Nick (read more reviews now!)

And while you can pretty much procure this shirt from any major souvenir shop in Times Square, you can also get this t-shirt on Amazon too!

Yeah, it costs a whopping $11.00 and is WAY cheaper than any of the best NYC souvenirs that you’ll find in an actual NYC souvenir shop.

Awesome right? Plus, the quality is top-notch since the fabric is soft and light, but not thin.

So, the only downside is that the cut on one of the best New York souvenirs is a slim/modern fit. Translation? They run a little small so order a size bigger than you would normally get.

2. Sabon Sea Salt Scrubs

⭐️ Rating: 4.2/5 (825 Reviews) Price: $105 Details: Read more on Amazon!

Love skin products and want to feel like you’re living the luxe life of a supremely wealthy New Yorker on the Upper East Side?

If so then one of the best souvenirs from NYC for you is this Sabon Sea Salt Scrub, which comes in both lavender apple and kiwi mango varieties.

See, this luxurious shop was first started in 1973 as a private, soap making boutique of sorts. And since then, they have used their version of an old-school, indigenous soap recipe to captivate the greater tristate area with their products.

As a result, this brand now has eight stores scattered throughout the city and sells some of the best New York souvenirs of all time.

“I had used this product several years ago and fell in LOVE but couldn’t remember the name. I was so estatic to happen across it on Amazon because I always remembered how wonderful it smelled.

The texture is wonderful and it leaves my skin feeling soft and moisturized. However, the scent leaves a little to be desired. The Vanilla Coconut scent is light and doesn’t have a lasting effect.”

3. New York City Calendar

⭐️ Rating: 4.7/5 (15 Reviews) Price: $12 Details: Read more on Amazon!

Nothing screams, “I have no idea what to get you” quite like a wall calendar. Am I right? But let’s be honest. We all have that one, great aunt Mildred that we see once, maybe twice a year.

We don’t really know her, or how we’re actually related to her, and she kind of smells like mothballs. But, we’re obliged to get her some top NYC souvenirs for either her birthday or Christmas.

Otherwise, we look like a stereotypical, totally ungrateful, little millennial who thinks the world revolves around him or her.

So, to keep our rep intact, procure dear old auntie an NYC wall calendar. Because if she loves NYC but doesn’t really want to leave her couch and the beautiful comfort of binge-watching Murder She Wrote, then this NYC calendar is where it’s at.

And trust me, this isn’t your ordinary wall calendar. The images are stunning (think Ansel Adams level epic), the calendar is durable and well-constructed, and the date boxes are large enough so that you can actually write a note that you’ll understand.

Trust me, this is one of the best souvenirs from NYC that is light years better than some of those generic calendars you’ll find at your local calender store.

4. Bag of Olde Brooklyn Coffee

⭐️ Rating: 4.5/5 (3,195 Reviews) Price: $39.99 Details: Read more on Amazon!

Although there are a ton of amazing coffee shops in NYC, there is nothing quite like a bag of dark, French Roast, whole bean coffee from Olde Brooklyn Coffee.

And that’s mostly because Olde Brooklyn Coffee slow roasts small batches of their fresh, super aromatic coffee to create awesome two and five pound bags that you can easily bring home with you.

Then, once you return from your trip. just whip out one of the best souvenirs from NYC, grind it up, and enjoy a little of Brooklyn right there in your kitchen.

“Thanks to Amazon, we have had the opportunity to try great coffees from around the country and around the world. Imagine our surprise to find a superior, fresh coffee bean coming out of Brooklyn! The beans are fresh with oil on the surface, flavor is rich and full bodied. Five pound bag for thirty bucks is a good deal these days, but you have to store it properly once opened.

We divided the five pounds into separate one-pound Ziploc bags, squeezed out as much air as possible, then stored them back in the original Brooklyn bag. Do not store in fridge, just a shelf in the pantry is ok. We are now on bag five and still loving the brew. Will reorder soon.”

C.W. Beuret (read more reviews now!)

It’s also one of the best New York souvenirs out there since, really, who doesn’t love a fresh cup of NYC coffee first thing in the morning? I know I do!

Plus, you know this coffee is of the highest quality since they source the finest beans directly from Brazil, Columbia, and Guatemala to create decadent blends that include Brazilian Santos, House Blend, Breakfast Blend, Italian Dark Roast, and more!

Just do yourself a favor and remember to have a grinder handy since these bags of coffee are sold as whole beans to preserve their flavor and freshness for you.

Pro Tip: Stop by Felix Roasting Company while you’re in the city. Not only do they have amazing brew, but the shop itself is literally next-level stunning.

5. Ess-A-Bagels

Me holding a bagel in a brown paper wrapping and one of the best souvenirs from NYC
I

So, obviously, Amazon sells New York City bagels because I mean really, what doesn’t Amazon sell? Hmm…maybe I can get that pony I always wanted. LOL.

However, the bagels they sell? Not so fab because they are not super LEGIT, New York bagels from Essex-A-Bagels.

Therefore, I will not be recommending those to you as one of my favorite NYC food gifts.

However, if you want a bagel related NYC souvenir from Amazon, then try snagging this Everything-Flavored Seasoning from Spice Lab since there is nothing quite as New York as an Everything bagel.

Because yes, New York bagels are flipping delicious and you should take some homes with you. However, short of smuggling dozens of bagels onto a plane with you, how can you procure New York bagels to take home with you?

Well, I have one word for you, Goldbelly. See, this amazing company ships almost any food you can imagine, right to your door, from anywhere in America.

And yes, they even ship crazy stuff like Chicago deep dish pizza. You know, just in case you were wondering.

Sure, it’s a little pricey as far as the best souvenirs from NYC go. But, it’s not as expensive as booking a trip to New York Ciyt just for some Ess-A-Bagels.

Plus, Ess-A-Bagels really are the best bagels in the world, so it’s totally worth it to order them.

Pro Tip: You can also get your New York bagel fix if you head to their Mid-town location near Grand Central Terminal. Just stop by at an off time since lines regularly go out the door and wrap around the corner. And order a raisin bagel with chocolate chip cream cheese for me! Also, eat it the New York way and NEVER toast it.

Address: 831 3rd Ave, New York, NY 10022

Hours: Open daily from 6:00 am to 5:00 pm.

Price: You can easily get a bagel with cream cheese for under $5.00.

How to Get There: Take the shuttle (S train) from Times Square to Grand Central and walk from there.

6. DKNY Be Delicious Perfume

Chances are you’ve heard of DKNY, AKA Donna Karen of New York. That’s because this immortal, New York City based, urban designer started her brand in 1989 and has is now known the world over for her amazing jeans, perfumes, and stylish footwear.

So, if you’re looking for some of the best souvenirs from NYC, stop by their retail store (visit the one in Woodbury Commons for stellar discounts) and order a bottle of their amazing Be Delicious Perfume from Amazon now.

Either way, you can’t go wrong since the Be Delicious Perfume pays homage to NYC with a metal and glass, apple-shaped bottle that contains the delicious scent of wildflowers with hints of fruit.

And if you’re looking for something a bit more refined, try their second scent, Golden Delicious, which has notes of rose petals and orange blossoms too.

7. Official New York Yankees Hat

Just in case you didn’t know, New York City actually has two baseball teams, the Mets and the Yankees.

However, I personally root for the Yankees and would NEVER be caught dead in a METS hat.Furthermore, I consider the Yankees more of “New York’s team “since this franchise is more internationally recognized.

Hence the reason why this next level awesome hat made it on this list of the best souvenirs from NYC,

Besides, how many world famous rappers do you see walking around with a New York Mets hat on? Exactly, I rest my case.

Now, while there are a ton of different Yankees hats out there, this is the one and only Yankees hat that any New Yorker will ever wear, making this one of the best New York souvenirs out there.

“This is a great deal for a great hat, genuine product, fits as expected, I received it quickly after I ordered . I don’t see anything wrong with this hat , I compared it to one I purchased at Yankees stadium and it’s exactly the same .

Buy it now, you won’t regret your purchase especially at this price . I bought it and used the 10-15 dollars I saved to go out to lunch with my new Yankees hat on of course .”

Betancourt (read more reviews now!)

And if you really wanna look like a local and wear this hat correctly, then you CANNOT bend the brim and you must keep the sticker on; at least if you want to keep your New York swagger intact.

Do this and we (New Yorkers) will welcome you as one of our own. But seriously, I’ve had one for years and totally love it.

Not only are they comfortable and stylish, but they’re durable, come in a variety of different colors, protect you from the sun, and are perfect NYC souvenir for any baseball fan.

Plus, buying this hat online is WAY cheaper than buying them at Yankee Stadium.

Pro Tip: You can get all the best Yankees gear at any one of the official Yankee clubhouse shops in the city.

Address: 745 7th Ave, New York, NY 10019

Hours: Open daily from 11:00 am to 7:00 pm.

Calling all history lovers because this is one of the best souvenirs from NYC for you! See, back in the day, before the time of the Metrocard, New Yorkers used tokens to catch a ride on the subway.

And while the reign of tokens has long since passed, these little nuggets of history have been fully repurposed into stylish, super useful, sterling silver money belts that feature tokens from 1953.

9. NYC Skyline Necklace

⭐️ Rating: 4.6/5 (16 Reviews) Price: $47 Details: Read more on Amazon!

Nothing says, “I’m a baller who’s in a New York state of mind”, quite like this New York City skyline necklace.

In fairness though, this necklace isn’t THAT baller since it’s pretty delicate and only costs about $12.88.

But for the price point, this piece of jewelry is pretty awesome and a great pick for one of the best souvenirs from NYC if you can’t actually make to the city itself.

“Perfect gift for my son’s girlfriend who is new to New York. She loved it and wears it all the time.”

Jenn (read more reviews now!)

It’s also made with stainless steel, so it won’t rust or tarnish and leave you looking a bit green. Plus, it’s beautiful in it’s simplicity, making it the perfect accent piece for everyday wear.

And if you’re not a fan of NYC (gasps in horror), no worries because this manufacturer also sells necklaces that outline both the London and Paris skylines.

So all in all, one of the best New York soiuvenirs for any traveler who wants to show some love for their favorite city.

10. A New York City Snow Globe

⭐️ Rating: 4.5/5 (205 Reviews) Price: $19.99 Details: Read more on Amazon!

Not sure what to bring home with you from the city that never sleeps? If so then mosey on over to Macy’s flagship store in Herald Square and procure yourself a wicked awesome, NYC inspired snow globe.

Trust me, they have a wide selection of top quality snow globes on sale that will serve as the perfect reminder of all the memories you made during your most recent trip to the city that never sleeps. Just head to the lower level of Macy’s and nab a snow globe in a green box for around $39.99 each.

“This is a token gift for a friend in the Philippines who had indicated he wanted a snow globe of America. I am very pleased with this one. it is just cute as a button and it comes nicely boxed with a see threw display window on the box. Very nice for presenting it to him. The quality of the globe is also very good, so i am proud of it.”

Ross (read more reviews now!)

Then, once you get home, you can shake your globe around and watch in awe as snow gently settles over one of the most iconic skylines in the world. You can also turn the key at the base of the globe and listen to some music while you’re reminiscing too.

11. Timberland Boots

⭐️ Rating: 4.5/5 (677 Reviews) Price: $99.95 Details: Read more on Amazon!

If one piece of clothing was the part of the unofficial uniform of NYC residents then Tims (aka Timberland boots) would be it.

And it makes sense since the streets of NYC are absolutely filthy. That’s why, everyone from construction workers to Wall Street professionals all need a sturdy pair of work boots to keep their feet warm, and dry, as the wrath of the polar vortex rains down upon New York City.

Now, because Timberlands are actually work boots, you may feel like they’ll be clunky and make your feet look Big Foot level enormous.

But that perception couldn’t be farther from the truth! In fact, I’ve owned Tims for years and they hold up WAY better than UGGS in the rain and snow.

Yup, no gross salt stains on these bad boys. Plus, they’re comfortable, last a long time, and come in a variety of different colors and styles that suit any and every taste, making them an excellent choice for the best souvenirs from NYC.

“After researching a ton and trying several different hiking boots, I settled on these and could not be more pleased!! The fit and shape of these is so stylish, but they are also extremely comfortable, rugged and waterproof.

I’ve hiked 3 half days and 2 full day hikes on difficult trails with steep inclines, boulders, thick mud and water, and my feet stayed dry and my ankles were well protected. I’ve worn them around town running errands with jeans and gotten a ton of compliments on the red color.

I’ve even worn them to one camping music festival and finally I was able to stand all day without my feet killing me at the end. I’m planning to order another pair to keep in my closet as backup just in case Timberland stops making them.”

Kelly (read more reviews now!)

In fact, they now make Tims in high heels and colors like pale pink. However, Tims do tend to run a little big so I would suggest getting a half size smaller than you normally do.

This way, they’ll still be comfortable but easy to wear with a pair of heavy socks. Plus, these boots are super versatile and you can easily wear them with the laces done up, or only half way up, with the tongue sticking out (and they won’t slip out because of the boot’s high ankle).

They look wicked good with a pair of skinny jeans tucked into the boot or with your socks coming out of the boot and over your skinny jeans (they look awesome with leggings too).

Yup, just an all around fantastic pair of boots that will make you look and feel like a true New Yorker.

Pro Tip: If you want to see a little money on one of the best New York souvenirs, you can head to the giant DSW in Union Square and see if you can get a discounted pair there.

Address: 474 Broadway, New York, NY 10013

Hours: Open daily from 11:00 am to 7:00 pm with extended hours until 8:00 pm on Fridays.

Price: Boots start at $130.00 each.

How to Get There: Take the N/Q/R/W train to Canal Street or the B/D/F/M train to Broadway and Lafayette and walk from there.

12. Junior’s Cheesecake

Juniors Cheesecake storefront with its yellow and red sign and people crossing in front of it. The cheesecake here is one of the best souvenirs from NYC

⭐️ Rating: 4.6/5 (314 Reviews) Price: $71.95 Details: Read more on Amazon!

The only thing more New York than pizza and bagels is cheesecake. And there’s really no better place to snag an immortal slice of rich, dessert goodness than Junior’s. It is featured on so many of the food tours in NYC and with good reason!

Sadly though, cheesecake doesn’t typically make it on most top New York souvenir lists since, well, it’s insanely difficult to take a giant cheesecake home on the plane with you.

Luckily for you though, you can actually have Amazon deliver authentic Junior’s cheesecake right to your door!

Yes, it’s expensive at $60.00 per cake, but it could be worth it if you are in desperate need of some of the best cheesecake in the city and have no other way to get it.

Alternatively, you could always look for epic flavors like chocolate swirl, raspberry swirl, original, chocolate fudge, and carrot cake at your local grocery store since Junior’s brand cheesecakes can sometimes be sold there for a more reasonable, $12 -$14 per pie.

“Well worth the $ for a special occasion. Packed & shipped for safe delivery. Best eaten, though, in one of their restaurants in NY.”

Richard (read more reviews now!)

But really, why am I all about Junior’s cheesecake? Well, this Brooklyn, cheesecake mecca, has been serving up some of the best desserts in New York City since the 1950s.

And no way do you stay in business that long if you don’t know how to make a killer, New York style cheesecake (very different and much sweeter/creamier than Italian style cheesecake).

And to attain cheesecake immortality, Junior’s performs some foodie magic and combines cream cheese, whipping cream, eggs, and a dash of vanilla, to create the smoothest and creamiest cheesecake that I’ve ever eaten.

And yes, I’ve eaten my body weight in New York style cheesecake. So if you want some New York style cheesecake, but can’t physically get to New York, then definitely order some NY style cheesecake for yourself... I mean as a gift.

Pro Tip: This restaurant is right in the theater district and makes a great place to stop for dessert after a Broadway show.

Address: 1515 Broadway, New York, NY 10019 (at 45th and 8th Avenue is this large, sit down restaurant)

Hours: Open Sunday and Monday from 7:00 am to 11:00 pm, Tuesday through Thursday from 7:00 am to 12:00 am, and Friday and Saturday from 7:00 am to 1:00 am.

Price: Cheesecake starts at $8.30 a slice.

How to Get There: Take basically any subway line to Times Square and walk from here.

13. Lego: The NYC skyline And More

⭐️ Rating: 4.8/5 (6,106 Reviews) Price: $ Details: Read more on Amazon!

I loooove legos. There I said it. Legos are also one of the coolest NYC souvenirs to take back home for kids (or for yourself!).

NYC has some iconic Lego flagship stores in the city and yes I highly recommend visiting one. Sure you can get yourself a model online but visiting the store is like heading into Lego Disneyland!

If you are interested in something really themed then you have to check out this Lego set that allows you to build the NYC skyline.

“It was easy to put together, I imagined it would be much bigger but in the end what matters in this type of product is what they represent and the brand. The person who gave it to him loved it! if it is a good gift, although a little expensive.”

Geraldine (read more reviews now!)

The downside is that this is meant for children who are 12 years above. The upside is that it is mounted on a nice little plate and can be displayed as a cool ornament in your house!

I have a friend who took it and placed it on his desk in the office because it was just so cool! Suffice to say that his colleagues were rather envious!

Address: 636 5th Ave, New York, NY 10020, United States

Hours: Thursday-Tuesday: 11am-7pm, Wednesday: 11am-3pm

14. Anything From Chelsea Market

Tote bags, maps and posters arranged on a rack at Posman Books in Chelsea Market are some of the best souvenirs from NYC.

If you want some really one of a kind, super authentic souvenirs from NYC that you won’t be able to find anywhere else, then run, don’t walk, to Chelsea Market.

It’s basically this giant indoor, gourmet food market in Chelsea that is home to wide array of retail stores, restaurants, and grocery stores that can only be found in the Big Apple.

In fact, it’s such a popular spot that this attraction routinely receives 6 million visitors annually. And while you can pick up some of the best New York souvenirs at any of the shops here, some of my faves include:

  • Artists and Fleas – Great items made by local artisans. So, an ideal place to get jewelry and clothing made by actual New Yorkers.
  • Higher Standard – Good place for unique, luxury products that are pretty dang hip. Perfect for Millenials.
  • Posman Books – Lots of cute totes, NYC-inspired journals, and small NYC themed products that you can easily fit in your carryon.
  • Pearl River Market – Asian market with food but they also have a ton of quirky souvenirs that are ideal if you love Asian food or just NYC in general.
  • Chelsea Market Baskets – Way more than just baskets, this place features a wide array of gourmet food items, luxury skin care products, and unique NYC inspired knick knacks.

Pro Tip: Stop by Takumi Taco for some totally unique and incredibly delicious, Asian tacos.

Address: 75 9th Ave, New York, NY 10011

Hours: Open daily from 7:00 am to 2:00 am and from 8:00 am to 10:00 pm on Sundays.

Price: Varies

How to Get There: Take the 1 train to 18th Street or the A/C/E to 14th Street/8th Ave and walk from there.

15. Souvenirs from Strand Bookstore

Tote bags on a wall at Strand bookstore and home to some of the best souvenirs in New York.

Easily one of the best bookstores in NYC, this Mecca for used books was first started in 1927 and is now known for selling 16 miles worth of books that encompass a respectable collection of 2.5 million volumes.

However, what you may not know is that this immortal Union Square bookstore sells way more than books.

Yup, they also offer eager patrons a wide array of tote bags, key chains, coffee mugs, photo albums, sweatshirts, and stationery items that easily make this one of the best places to shop for souvenirs from NYC.

I mean, I’ve personally visited more times than I can count and have walked away with tons of books (DUH) in addition to a sweatshirt, a coffee mug, and several awesome bags that you really can’t find anywhere else.

So, if you’re in the market for super unique New York souvenirs that you can only find in NYC, then definitely give this place a visit.

Address: 828 Broadway, New York, NY 10003 (main location, but there is also a pop-up shop and two kiosks)

Hours: Open daily from 12:00 pm to 7:00 pm, with curbside pick available daily from 12:00 pm to 6:00 pm.

Price: Varies but bags start at around $10.00 each.

How to Get There: Take the 4, 5, 6, L, N, Q, R, or W trains to 14th Street-Union Square Station and walk to the store from there. Otherwise, you can take the M1, M2, or M3 bus to 4th Avenue/E 13th Street.

16. NYC Christmas ornament

Everyone loves to visit New York City during the Christmas season. If you are in the city at this time of the year, you definitely should keep an eye out for all the pop-up markets in the city.

Christmas ornaments are a big thing at this time of the year. Think about Christmas decorations in all shapes and sizes.

I always advise looking out for New York-themed ornaments. If you aren’t from the city, you will find them rather cool to hang on your tree.

Plus every year when you hand the ornament you will remember the epic trip that you had when you visited the city. Need I say any more?

17. New York Charm Bracelet

I’m not a huge jewelry person. Therefore, any jewelry I do have is generally small, understated, and something that I’ll probably wear until I die.

Because once I put on a piece of jewelry, I never take it off. EVER. So obviously I won’t be blinged out, with diamonds dripping from my grill.

Don’t get me wrong. That look is great, but I’m just not swagerific enough to pull it off. That’s why I go for jewelry that is a bit more subtle. Which is why I love this New York charm bracelet.

Not only does it get me all nostalgic and remind me that NY will always be my home (even though I constantly complain about rats the size of house cats), but it’s made of high-quality stainless steel that will definitely last.

Plus, it features an expandable double loop wire bangle that allows you to adjust it for the perfect fit every time.

It’s also well sized to fit most wrists, with letters that are hand stamped so that no two brackets are exactly the same.So like you, this bracelet is a TOTAL original! I know, super sappy but still true!

It’s also not ridiculously expensive and is reasonably priced at under $30.00 each.

Otherwise, if you have a bit of extra cash to spend, then head on over to Tiffany’s of Fifth Avenue and get a truly one of a kind piece of New York jewelry.

18. Anything from the MOMA Design Store

Colorful Campbells soup can skateboards at the MoMA store where you can easily get some of the best souvenirs in NYC

Located in the always awesome neighborhood of SOHO, the MoMA design store is a super rad place to shop for hip, totally unique, sometimes overly expensive souvenirs from NYC.

And that’s mainly because this high-concept, modern art store is associated with one of the coolest museums in NYC of the same name and sells everything from gifts to housewares to art books.

Also, although there is a gift shop in MoMA itself, I like the store in SOHO better since it”s just a really fun place to look around, even if you don’t feel like buying anything, since they have some really great modern art hanging on the walls.

Plus, they have a ton of New York souvenirs here that retail for less than $25,00, including Van Gogh pins, Jackson Pollock inspired coffee mugs, Frida Kahlo jigsaw puzzles, a Bodum Caffettiera French Press, and more!

So, feel free to window shop it up or splurge on some modern art inspired gifts to take home with you.

Address: 81 Spring St A, New York, NY 10012

Hours: Open daily from 11:00 am to 7:00 pm.

Price: Varies but you won’t find much for under $25.00 each.

How to Get There: Take the R/W to Prince Street station or the 6 to Spring Street and walk from there.

19. NYC Phone Case

⭐️ Rating: 4.5/5 (47 Reviews) Price: $15.39 Details: Read more on Amazon!

Since you’re technologically savvy enough to read this post on the internet, then I’m going to assume that you don’t use a set of tin cans, connected by a string, as your mobile device of choice.

And If my not-so-mind-boggling, powers of deduction are correct, then this soft gel, protective cell phone cover (for iPhone 11) might be perfect for anyone you know who is constantly in a New York state of mind.

Sure, it’s not the fanciest of souvenirs from NYC on this list. So, no bells and whistles or built-in chargers. Just a pretty, plastic case with the Empire State Building on the back.

“I love my snowflake case! It looks nice on my purple iPhone! I wouldn’t say it’s super durable like a LifeProof case but I have dropped my phone a few times without any damage to the phone. I also bought the purple popsocket and I think it looks great!”

Cathy (read more reviews now!)

But, this case gets the job done. It stays in place, protects your phone from scratches, and lasts well over a year (at least it did on my last phone).

Plus, it’s only $12 so not exactly a HUGE financial investment here people. Just be aware that the upper portion of the case is see-through.

Therefore, if you don’t have a rose gold color phone then OBVIOUSLY the case won’t look like the picture above.

However, for the price point, I think this case is awesome and makes one of the best New York souvenirs on this list.

20. Anything from the New York Transit Museum Gallery Annex and Store

Facade of the New York Transit Museum Annex in Grand Central station. Here you will find some really cool souvenirs from NYC

Well, you no longer have to go all the way to Brooklyn to find some of the best souvenirs from NYC. Because this teeny-weeny outpost of this amazing Brooklyn-based museum can be found in Grand Central Terminal.

Yup, it’s a small but awesome little shop that showcases several rotating railroad exhibits and some pretty unique, subway-inspired souvenirs too.

So, skip the generic AF souvenir shop and come here instead so that you can shop for a whole host of subway maps, subway inspired apparel, games, toys, posters, books and basically anything else you can imagine that has to do with transportation.

After all, this place is dedicated to providing visitors with educational material that helps preserve and interpret both the historical and cultural significance of the public transpiration system of New York.

Address: 89 E 42nd St, New York, NY 10001

Hours: Open Wednesday through Friday from 11:30 am to 6:00 pm.

Price: Varies

How to Get There: Take the 4/5/5/7/S train to Grand Central and walk from there. It’s just off the main concourse in the Shuttle Passage.

21. NYC Skyline Wall Decor

⭐️ Rating: 4.6/5 (382 Reviews) Price: $89.99 Details: Read more on Amazon!

My friend and I have this running joke that when it comes to interior design, I am the ultra-minimalist. And by minimalist I mean that I have no home decor at all, minus the four walls that hold my house together.

I mean, my friend brought me into Home Goods once and I just didn’t get it. I kept asking why anyone would spend money on a metal Ferris wheel that holds tea candles or on a geometric terrarium that resembles a space ship that David Bowie would ride in.

Needless to say, I was not invited back to Home Goods with her. But, this does make her the perfect person to ask about wall decor since I’m utterly useless.

So, when I inquired about some of the best home decor-related souvenirs from NYC, she immediately gushed about the wall art above.

“Besides the beautiful picture, this print caught my eye due to its vibrant colors. I was a little skeptical about the transfer of the print to the canvas and thought it might be a bit fuzzy and dull. I was also worried it would be too small. I received the print and I was extremely happy with it, it’s exactly as the picture shows so vibrant and beautiful!! The size is perfect for the wall and I can’t wait to put it up!”

Stella (read more reviews now!)

First of all, this canvas art is incredibly high-quality (the wrap around the edges is perfectly done), with beautifully vivid and vibrant colors that pop out against any wall.

So much so that you feel like you’re actually standing beneath the Brooklyn Bridge while gazing at this decorative piece.

Plus, at $80 per set, the price is extremely reasonable given the quality of the product.

But it gets even better! Because you can feel good about supporting this company since they’re a small family business with excellent customer service.

Also, every time you buy from them, they’ll send you the sweetest, hand-written thank you card EVER (aww).

However, if cityscapes are not your thing, never fear because they have 18 other images for you to choose from.

22. NYC Themed LeSportsac Bag

⭐️ Rating: 4.5/5 (2 Reviews) Price: $90.99 Details: Read more on Amazon!

We’ve all been to those beyond tacky souvenir shops where all their top souvenirs from NYC look like they’re about to disintegrate in about 2.5 seconds.

And while I am no fashionista, I am also way too old to be toting around a bag that looks like it’s a hot minute away from melting.

So, even though my LeSportsac lovin’ days are long gone, I was definitely obsessed with this brand, and their style, throughout my 20s.

Somehow, I feel as though I’ve matured past this bag and look for a tote that is a bit chicer and slightly more sophisticated.

However, this Hobo style bag is fantastic for anyone who wants a bag with a more vibrant and youthful look; a bag that embraces the bold, vibrant, and colorful atmosphere of NYC and that is just one of the best New York souvenirs out there today.

But the best part? Not only do these bags last forever (I always got tired of my bags before they ever wore out), but they’re easy to clean, lightweight, and perfect for travel.

Just store your passport and glasses in the exterior pockets, and use the roomy interior to carry your wallet, tablet, and camera.

Heck, this bag even comes with a nifty little cosmetic bag and a zippered interior pocket for added storage.

So if you’re looking for a mildly stylish bag that screams out, ” I love NYC” then definitely check this bag out.

23. Metrocard Luggage Tags

⭐️ Rating: 4.3/5 (55 Reviews) Price: $14.99 Details: Read more on Amazon!

Seriously, could there be a more boring NYC souvenir than a luggage tag?

Yeah, probably not. But we all need them so you might as well get some tags that are easy on the eyes and that express your undying love for all things NYC.

Because really, you never know when your luggage will get lost or when you’ll need to check your carry on because the plane is too full. Yup, that contact info comes in mighty handy.

“This turned out perfectly! So glad to finally have another piece of home, can’t wait to show it off when I go back this summer. Came super fast as well! Totally recommend 100%”

Brittany (read more reviews now!)

And these tags are pretty epic, at least as far as luggage tags go.

Not only do they have a super cute, Metrocard design, but they are thick, durable, easily seen to help you find your luggage faster, and have a privacy panel, on the back, to keep your personal information somewhat hidden.

Pretty wicked and essential for any travelers out there, at least as far as the best souvenirs in New York. It’s also pretty reasonably priced at a mere $9.00 per tag.

24. NYC mini notebooks

⭐️ Rating: 4.4/5 (23 Reviews) Price: $14.99 Details: Read more on Amazon!

Much smaller, and easier to carry, than typical travel notebooks, these mini-notebooks make one of the best souvenirs from New York City.

Not only are they well-made, decorated with an assortment of awesome, vintage graphics, and relatively inexpensive since you can get a set of three for $12, but they make great party favors and an ideal place to jot down any notes while you’re traveling.

“Very nice little notebooks. I was satisfied with quality vs. price. I love the retro graphics.”

Brian (read more reviews now!)

The only slight negative to one of the best souvenirs in New York? Each notebook comes with a different style of paper on the interior. Therefore, one notebook has blank paper, the other has lined paper, and the third has graph paper. Which makes no sense since it’s not like I’ll be doing advanced trig everywhere I go.

So, just keep that in mind before you order this quaint little set of notebooks.

25. Lonely Planet Travel NYC Travel Guide

⭐️ Rating: 4.7/5 (371 Reviews) Price: $21.77 Details: Read more on Amazon!

As a travel blogger, you are probably NOT surprised to hear that I do NOT use travel guides.

Honestly, I find them to be a bit out of date and cumbersome to carry. Plus, everyone seems to use the same brand, so all those “secret” tips end up being not so secret.

However, I understand that some people like the comfort of carrying a travel guide with them.

“LP guides were a hard sell for me, but they are practical and packed with good info and they manage it fairly well given their limited space. This one helped me get around NYC and pin down some of the major sites. And we’ll be using it again later this month for another trip!”

Dave (read more reviews now!)

Therefore, if you must purchase a travel guide as one your souvenirs from NYC, I find that Lonely Planet is definitely the best and most informative brand out there.

Before you buy it though, check the date and make sure you’re purchasing the latest edition so that all the information will be as up to date as possible.

And, if you feel like a travel guide is way too heavy to carry, you can always download it on your phone, or go old school and make copies of any relevant info and leave the rest of the book at home.

26. Broadway Playbill

Broadway playbills from the shows Moulin Royge and Dear Evan Hansen, one of the best souvenirs from New York.

As a self-confessed theater fanatic, I not only attend a ton of Broadway shows but I also bring home all the playbills.

I’ll then try to convince myself to save them so that I can create a stunning collage… someday.

But inevitably, someday never comes. And so, they either get thrown out or hung up and framed when my roommate gets sick of looking at them.

However, just because I suck at DIY projects, doesn’t mean that you should throw your playbill out since it’s easily one of the best, totally free souvenirs from NYC – at least free if you were gonna buy theater tickets anyway.

In fact, playbills have always been an iconic, New York City souvenir. Plus, they are a great, inexpensive way to remember the beauty of your trip to NYC.

Although, if you accidentally threw your playbill out (whoops), or are looking for an extra special, signed playbill for a loved one, then definitely consider ordering this playbill.

Sure, it’s a bit pricey, but the show was amazing and it’s signed by the entire cast, making this a true, once-in-a-lifetime New York souvenir.

27. New York Monopoly

⭐️ Rating: 4.5/5 (153 Reviews) Price: $20.99 Details: Read more on Amazon!

Umm, who doesn’t love Monopoly? I know I do!

And while this is one of my more souvenirs from NYC on this list, it’s also the single most iconic game of my childhood since my friends and I would stay up all night at sleepovers, just playing monopoly.

So, if you’re a boardgames aficionado or have a child that you need to pry away from the TV (or tablet or computer) then why not get them the New York City Edition of Monopoly?

It’s super fun, entertains you for hours, and is relatively cheap compared to most video games. Want to save even more money?

“Big monopoly fan, I have one for a few cities. As a New Yorker, I absolutely love this edition! Would be fun to go to all of the properties for a weekend activity.”

Susan (read more reviews now!)

Then skip the name-brand version and get the knock off of Monopoly instead (you’ll save $30 and I doubt it makes that much of a difference, at least when it comes to top New York souvenirs).

28. Ceramic “We Are Happy to Serve You” Coffee Cup

⭐️ Rating: 4.7/5 (1,582 Reviews) Price: $17.12 Details: Read more on Amazon!

Tune into any TV show or movie set in NYC and you’ll probably see the disposable version of this Greek-style coffee cup flash across your screen.

And that makes sense since this is easily the most famous and instantly recognizable coffee cups in the entire city/.

Yeah, it was initially designed by the Sherri Cup Company in 1963 and quickly became New York’s go-to hot drink receptacle.

“I gave 5 stars for the total authentic look. I miss this and since I no longer live in NY it brings back good memories. With that being said, I cannot hold the cup in my hand as it gets extremely hot. I was hoping to use this but can’t so it will go on my shelf for all to see and admire and I’ll have to order the ones with handles, even though that’s not the true NY look.”

G. Gonzalez (read more reviews now!)

So, why not order a 10-ounce, ceramic version of this cup to enjoy your morning Joe in?

After all, they’re just $16.00 each and easily make one of the best souvenirs from New York City since you really can’t get any more NYC than this cup.

Plus, this mug is microwave and dishwasher-safe and features details so real that you’ll feel like you’re back in New York drinking out of the real thing.

29. Gear from IFC Center

I LOVE independent theaters. I dunno, there is just something about seeing an old-timey movie in a classic cinema that just makes my heart super happy.

And while NYC has TONS of little indie spots, IFC Center in Greenwich Village is one of the best (and most well-known TBH).

In fact, I recently saw It’s a Wonderful Life here over Christmas and had a fabulous time – even though I’ve seen that movie 10,000 times.

And you know what they were selling at the refreshments stand? Yup, some of the best souvenirs from NYC!

You name it and they it. Tons of cool classic movie-inspired gear like totes, t-shirts, keychains, etc.

So, if you want an iconic NYC souvenir that you really can’t get anywhere else, then hit up IFC Center. I got a vintage blue t-shirt and absolutely love it. And yeah, going to the movies here is pretty cool too.

Address: 323 6th Ave, New York, NY 10014

Hours: Varies

Price: Varies but t-shirts are like $30.00.

How to Get There: Take the A, B, C, D, E, F, or M train to West 4th Street/Washington Square and walk from there.
