17 Wonderfully Romantic Getaways in Vermont

Are you ready for some of the most romantic getaways in Vermont? Heck yeah, you are!

I mean, NYC is nice but holy Hannah batman! Sometimes you just gotta go on an epic New York road trip or a scenic drive through Maine to escape the never-ending piles of garbage, say adios to the rats the size of house cats, and embrace the total awesomeness that is Vermont.

Because guess what? Even though I’ve been (and still am) a total NYC native for well over twenty years, I spent basically every summer of my life in Vermont.

Yeah, my dad has a not-so-posh house on Lake Champlain that is just a hop, skip, and jump away from the great state of Vermont.

Therefore, I’ve been traveling to the green mountain state for 20 years and know all about some of the most romantic getaways in Vermont. Idyllic places where you can slow down and reconnect with the one you love in a meaningful way.

You know, minus the all too cruel picture perfectness of social media that leaves me feeling like I totally suck at life since I don’t actually climb mountains in ball gowns.

Or is that just me and an issue that is best left for my therapist?

On second thought, don’t answer that. Instead, check out this super snazzy list of the most romantic Vermont weekend getaways that you ever did see.

Charming trips that will make you want to impulse buy a red flannel shirt and inhale a large jug of fresh Vermont maple syrup (there’s really no maple syrup-like Vermont maple syrup) as you and all the other uber-cool hipsters around you do fun things like horseback ride into the sunset and sip on copious amounts of champagne in a glorious AF jacuzzi tub of your dreams.

So, what are you waiting for? Stop dreaming and start living it up with this epic list of the most romantic getaways in Vermont…ever (If you’re looking for even more romance, check out these amazing romantic getaways in Maine and visit some of the best beach towns in Maine while you’re there).

Yeah, The Reluctant Panther Inn kind of stole my heart as soon as I learned that they served complimentary, cooked-to-order, contemporary American-style breakfast in their amazing dining room.

Pedestrian walkways in downtown Burlington, Vermont.

Looking for some slightly more exciting romantic getaways in Vermont that are actually, you know, in a real-life city? If so then check out the Hotel Vermont!

It’s a wonderful property that sits inside one of my fave cities of all time…Burlington, Vermont.

Yup, it’s just a super cool place with a chill AF vibe about it since UVM is literally right here. So yeah, expect large swaths of college kids to overrun the city when classes are in session.

Otherwise, feel free to explore this hipster chic oasis since it overlooks beautiful Lake Champlain (FYI, you can easily take a scenic ferry ride across the lake to good old New York and check out some amazing romantic getaways in upstate NY and do some of the best hikes in the Adirondacks while you’re there) and has a ton of fun things to do like explore the Shelbourne Museum, walk down Chruch Street, visit the Magic Hat Factory. tour the Vermont Teddy Bear Company, and so much more.

However. when you’re not out and about exploring all that Burlington has to offer, kick your heels up at the aforementioned Hotel Vermont.

Just think of it is as this ever-enchanting, modern luxury hotel that sits in the center of Burlington and that offers guests a wealth of contemporary rooms that feature stone tile bathrooms (oh la la), flat-screen TVs, luxurious beds, fluffy pillows, free WIFI, and more.

And if you really want to live large, opt for a luxurious suite that also includes a working fireplace, a full living room, a whirlpool tub, a living room, and a kitchenette.

Located right smack dab in the middle of Rutland and Killington, Vermont, the stunning Mountain Top Inn and Resort quietly sits upon 350-acres of land and offers guests exquisite panoramas of the nearby Green Mountains.

Heck, you’ll even get access to a private lake and enjoy a stay in one of the hotel’s gorgeous classic lodge rooms, luxury lodge rooms, or luxury suites, which all include super snazzy things like free Wi-Fi, a mini-fridge, a microwave, a fireplace, and a coffeemaker.

And while in-room amenities may vary, all of these artfully decorated modern/log cabin style rooms come individually designed and feature a private bathroom with a walk-in shower (think the uber-luxe life with wood-paneled ceilings, stainless steel fixtures, marble countertops, and premium bath products).

However, when you’re finally ready to leave the quiet comfort of your luxurious room behind, enjoy free access to the inn’s hot tub, sauna, fitness room, heated outdoor pool, tennis court, private beach (with kayaks, canoes, and paddleboards available to use), cross country ski trails, snowshoe trail passes, and an ice skating rink (spa treatments and yoga classes are also on offer for an additional fee).

But, when all of this outdoor splendor leaves you feeling a bit peckish, enjoy a decadent meal at either The Mountain Top Dining Room (open for breakfast and dinner and slightly more formal) or the Mountain Top Tavern (A more casual place that is open for lunch and dinner. They have a limited menu but if you can, try their popular Burger and Brew night menu).

Both restaurants are located on-site and offer up some of the most amazing New England-style cuisines in the region, including fine cut steaks, chicken masala, mac and cheese, burgers, and pork poutine.

Therefore, if you really want to plan one of the best Vermont weekend getaways ever, then consider a most excellent stay at The Mountain Top Inn and Resort
